I cannot say enough about Rachel Hauck’s AMAZING talent!

She has been immeasurably blessed!

And I am blessed, every time I read one of her amazing books!

I LOVE everything about this book! I love the idea behind it – the wedding chapel that plays into so many different lives…

I’ve always been a sucker for time-travel stories and while this is not a sci-fi type time travel, it certainly has the same feel, since we move back and forth between the present and the past as we follow two different couples and their journey of love!

It is such an exceptional story of life… love… and connection!

Don’t miss out on this wonderful book – or any of Rachel’s others!

{MORE ABOUT THE WEDDING CHAPEL}

The Wedding Chapel(Zondervan, November 2015)

For sixty years, a wedding chapel sat silent, waiting for love. But times have changed and the hour has come when it just might be too late.

Retired hall-of-fame football coach Jimmy “Coach” Westbrook never imagined anything would come of his labor of love—the wedding chapel he built for Collette Greer, the woman he fell for back in ‘49. But now an offer has come to turn the chapel into what it was meant to be—a place for love—and Jimmy sees no reason to hang onto his dream any longer.

Photographer Taylor Branson is trying to make a life for herself in New York. Leaving her hometown of Heart’s Bend, Tennessee, she put a lot of things behind her, including her family’s abysmal marriage rate. But love surprises her when she falls head-over-heels for Jack Forester, a top ad man. Their whirlwind romance results in an elopement, and a mountain of doubt. Jack, while genuine in his love for Taylor, can never seem to overcome his own demons to find the words of his heart.

When Taylor takes an assignment in Heart’s Bend, the job does more than send her back to her hometown, but into a world of family secrets buried beneath the sands of time.

When Taylor’s journey intersects with Coach’s, they rediscover the heartbeat of their dreams and that the love they long to hold is right in front of them. And worth every waiting moment.

The next book in Rachel Hauck’s Magnificent Royal Wedding Series! | “How To Catch A Prince” | Book #3 | Review marathon!

Before I get into my review, I want to share this video a friend of Rachel’s put together for this wonderful book!

Doesn’t it just give you chills!

In “Once Upon A Prince”, we were introduced to the first Royal couple in Rachel Hauck’s amazing Royal Weddings series!

That story continued in “A March Bride” – a wonderful novella in the Year of Weddings series.

Princess Ever After” introduced us to the second Royal couple in a very unconventional fairy tale and since then, we’ve waited anxiously for the next installment!

And it’s finally here!

I’ll be honest with you. This review started very differently a week ago, when I was setting up my post in preparation for writing the review… before I had read the book.

And now that I have read the book, I find that I must start fresh – because the words I had planned do not even begin to do justice to this sensational story.

I will, however leave the words “You DON’T want to miss even one book in this terrific series!” because you DON’T! Each story is better than the last and How To Catch A Prince is… by far and away… the very BEST!

In the dedication at the very back of the book, Rachel makes a point of thanking so many people for helping her in her time of trial… she basically says she doesn’t know how she managed to write this book at all and she outlines for her beloved fans a bit of what she was going through at that dark time in her life.

I for one, am grateful.

I really think, when reading this book, that it was not Rachel who was writing out these touching words – it was God!

And while I feel for the difficult journey that Rachel went through… I am so very glad that she pushed herself to continue because I believe with every ounce of my being that God penned a very deep and meaningful message through her fingers.

Sometimes you just have to be completely broken – so that God can lift you up and make you whole again.

Perhaps Rachel could never have written so powerfully about Prince Stephen’s struggles if she had not been dealing with her own.

Perhaps Rachel could not have properly communicated Corina’s heartache if she had not felt the wrench in her own life.

Who knows…

Well, God knows!

And I thank God from the bottom of my heart for this beautiful story and I feel so very blessed to be able to do any tiny little thing to help get this book into the hands of even one more person.

So please, read this book. Please do not miss this exceptional story of loss, love and God’s healing power! You won’t regret it… unless you never read it, that is!

While you wait, here’s a bit more about How To Catch A Prince from GoodReads:

Prince Stephen came to America to escape responsibility. But what he found complicates his life more than ever.

Corina Del Rey is happy with her life in Melbourne, Florida. She spends her days engrossed in her career as a journalist and has her sights set on climbing the corporate ladder if for no other reason, to distract herself from her dissolving family. But when she is confronted with the past she fought so hard to put behind her, she struggles to make sense of her future.

Prince Stephen of Brighton Kingdom has moved on since the tragic death of his buddies in Afghanistan. A star professional rugby player, he has no intention of looking over his shoulder at what could’ve been.

But when a notice arrives in the mail requiring his and his wife’s appearance before the courts to dissolve their marriage, he must deal with the questions rumbling around in his heart. He thought his marriage had been annulled long ago, but his memories of Corina Del Rey remain close.

Does he still love her? Can he even find her? Above all, can he tell her the truth about that fateful night in Afghanistan seven years ago? If he does, he might really lose her forever.

A LOOK BACK at “Princess Ever After” by Rachel Hauck | Royal Weddings series #2 | Review Marathon!

"Princess Ever After" by Rachel Hauck

THIS COVER IS PERFECT! It just screams Princess! to me.

I LOVE IT!

And the story is just as perfect!

I said it before when I reviewed the book, and I’ll say it again! (and if you really want to read that review, click HERE)

Rachel Hauck is an AMAZING author!

In “Once Upon A Prince”, we read all about Suzanna giving herself over to God – to do with as He chose.

That aspect of faith is a bit more of a struggle for the characters in “Princess Ever After” but they do finally manage to “let go and let God” and the story is so much better for it!

BRAVO to Rachel Hauck for her fantastic story telling! God has truly blessed her!

The continuing story Rachel Hauck has written is definitely one of my favorite series!

The characters will grab your heart right away and will not let go! The story is so intense, you won’t want to put the book down for even a minute. And the message… well it’s absolutely amazing!

I can hardly wait to share my thoughts about the next book in the series! Oh my word! Make sure you pop back over tomorrow for my review.

And DON’T MISS any books in this terrific series!

While you wait, here’s a bit more about Princess Ever After from GoodReads:

Regina Beswick never dreamed of faraway places. She’s happy with her life as a classic car mechanic and owner of a restoration shop.

But an unexpected visitor and the discovery of a fairytale, drawn by her great-grandma, causes Regina to wonder if she might be destined for something more.

Tanner Burkhardt, Minister of Culture for the Grand Duchy of Hessenberg, must convince the strong-willed Southerner, Miss Beswick, that she is his country’s long-lost princess. Failure could destroy his reputation and change his nation forever.

As Regina and Tanner face the challenges before them, neither are prepared for love to invade their hearts and change every thing they believe about themselves.

However, when a royal opponent nearly destroys Regina’s future, she must lean into God and trust He has sovereignly brought her to her true and final destiny.

A LOOK BACK at “A March Bride” by Rachel Hauck | Royal Weddings series #1.5 | Review marathon!

20140228-153818.jpg

Well, I have to admit – reading over my initial review was a bit… odd.

Anyone who read it the first time around – knows that.

For anyone who has not read it, you can click HERE if you’re curious.

OK… now, having said that – I’m going to try to do the review justice again.

If you read my review yesterday, you know I came late to this wonderful series and it seems like I had to wait forever to read the next chapter in Nathaniel and Susanna’s romance!”

I was also tickled to find out that this wonderful story will be available in March of this year in a PAPER book with two other wonderful stories in the Year of Weddings series!

Now on to my review…

I am reminded yet again that Rachel Hauck is a GREAT writer! WOW!

You could not have pried the tablet out of my hand! while I was reading A March Bride

Every trial, every misstep, every twist and turn of this amazing story shows you that Rachel Hauck is in tune with precisely how God’s plans work!

We think our own stumbling blocks are just that. And sometimes… maybe… they are – because we have to stumble to look up.

Each trial you have in your own life, whether it is part of God’s plan or not, will help get you on your way to the destination God has in mind for you, and I LOVE that Rachel has that in mind when she’s writing these stories.

In fact, God is central to her novels in a way unlike most others you will read. It’s AMAZING! God has truly gifted Rachel Hauck with such an amazing gift!

The only complaint I have about this book is that there wasn’t more of it!

Whether you enjoyed Once Upon A Prince or not, A March Bride is a MUST READ! – Tweet this!

Here’s a bit more about A March Bride from Zondervan:

Susanna has found her true prince, and their happily ever after is just around the corner. But when Nate asks her to give up something precious to her, Susanna can’t help but wonder if it’s a sign that their love is not meant to be.

Susanna Truitt (Once Upon A Prince) is three weeks from royalty. She’ll soon marry King Nathaniel II of Brighton Kingdom. But when the government insists she renounce her American citizenship before the wedding, coupled with the lack of involvement by family and friends, Susanna’s heart begins to doubt whether this marriage is God’s plan for her.

Nathaniel would do anything for his bride-to-be. But he knows his position requires that she give up a lot to be with him. Her life will never be her own—right down to her very identity.

When she travels home to St. Simon’s Island, Georgia, right before the wedding, Nathaniel fears she won’t return. Gathering his courage, he devises a plan to win his bride all over again, and together they seek out a kingdom to treasure above all.

A year’s worth of novellas from twelve inspirational romance authors. Happily ever after guaranteed.

A LOOK BACK at “Once Upon A Prince” by Rachel Hauck | Royal Weddings series #1 | Review marathon!

20140218-120448.jpg

Yes I’ve reviewed this book before and if you’re interested, you can read that review HERE.

I can still remember how crazy I was over this series when I read Once Upon A Prince for the first time!

I was definitely in danger of turning into a giggling, gushing, fan-girl over the book… the story… the series!

It had been out for over a year before I skimmed through it at the insistence of my mother and I later kicked myself for only skimming.

Oh what I missed that first time through…

WHAT an amazing story!

WHAT a wonderful idea!

AND SO MUCH better than a silly story of magic slippers or enchanted spinning wheels.

Like so many other young girls, I grew up on fairy tales and it took me one failed marriage and several failed relationships to admit that believing in fairy tales was not such a good thing for a grown-woman but “Once Upon A Prince” is a real-life fairy tale that I can get behind.

You’re still left with a story book feel and you still end up with a happy ending (I feel no danger in revealing that because it’s not the one you’ll be expecting and… the book has been out a while now) but it really feels real through and through.

BRAVO Rachel Hauck!

And now I get to jump right into the next story… and the next until I get to Rachel’s NEWEST book in this wonderful series! SO there is a bit of a bonus for me waiting so long to really read the book. I don’t have to sit on tacks while I wait for book 2. YAY!

Don’t forget to pop back over tomorrow to read my review of the next book in the series!

And just in case you need more convincing, here’s what GoodReads has to say about Once Upon A Prince:

“Once Upon a Prince, the first novel in the Royal Wedding series by bestselling author Rachel Hauck, treats you to a modern-day fairy tale.”
~ GoodReads

Susanna Truitt never dreamed of a great romance or being treated like a princess—just to marry the man she has loved for twelve years. But life isn’t going according to plan. When her high-school-sweetheart-turned-Marine-officer breaks up instead of proposing, Susanna scrambles to rebuild her life.

The last thing Prince Nathaniel expects to find on his American holiday to St. Simon’s Island is the queen of his heart. A prince has duties, and his family’s tense political situation has chosen his bride for him. When Prince Nathaniel comes to Susanna’s aid under the fabled Lover’s Oak, he is blindsided by love.

Their lives are worlds apart. He’s a royal prince. She’s a ordinary girl. But everything changes when Susanna receives an invitation to Nathaniel’s coronation.

It’s the ultimate choice. His kingdom or her heart? God’s will or their own?

Don’t miss a single one!

FUN! FUN! FUN!

My top ten Authors – well… kinda

All over the net, readers/bloggers are listing their favorite authors of 2014 and I decided to jump on the bandwagon.

Of course I couldn’t narrow down my list to just ten authors. Actually I couldn’t even narrow my list to 20. I had to do it by genre – and I couldn’t get my favorites list in the Amish genre smaller than twelve… well, the others either. There are just too many AWESOME authors out there! Can you really blame me?

Can you narrow your favorite author list down to just ten?Tweet this!

So… here’s my personal list of the TOP TEN 12 FAVORITE AMISH FICTION AUTHORS:

Jennifer Beckstrand   Suzanne Woods Fisher   Vannetta Chapman   Cindy Woodsmall   Amy Clipston   Ruth Reid   Rosalind Lauer   Marta Perry   Shelley Shepard Gray   Beverly Lewis   Serena Miller   Lynette Sowell

Who are your favorite Amish Fiction authors?Tweet this!

I did actually manage to get the list down to ten – No I didn’t. I can’t do it. Even 12 isn’t enough for HISTORICAL FICTION.

Melanie Dickerson   Jamie Carie

Sarah Sundin   Rachel Muller   Sarah Loudin Thomas   Tricia Goyer   Cara Putman

Tracie Peterson   Mary Ellis   Mary Conneally   Janette Oke   Judith Miller

Are your favorite Historical fiction authors – inspirational or mainstream?Tweet this!

The INSPIRATIONAL FICTION AUTHOR list was a bit easier since I don’t read a lot of inspirational that isn’t Amish or Historical but only a bit because there are still so many:

Philip Gulley

Rachel Hauck   Betsy St. Amant   Robin Jones Gunn   Judy Baer

Vannetta Chapman   Barbara Cameron

Dan Walsh   Melody Carlson   Max Lucado

Nadine Brandes   CJ Darlington

Who started you out with Christian /Inspirational fiction?Tweet this!

Judy Baer started me out reading Christian fiction – who was your first?Tweet this!

Yesh… see how I snuck a few of my favorites into other genres – those of you who read as much as I do, know there are several authors who write in multiple genres. A couple of them landed in multiple categories because I just couldn’t help myself but it came in handy to be able to sneak in a few who I REALLY wanted to put in the Amish fiction list but just couldn’t do it.

If your favorite author switched genres, would you follow?Tweet this!

How many genres does your favorite author write in?Tweet this!

WHEW!

What am I gonna do next year…

Well, I guess I’ll have the top 20 in each genre.

“A Brush With Love” by Rachel Hauck | A Year of Weddings Novella – January 2015

BrushWithLove2

I had a very interesting and unexpected reaction to this story.

The synopsis gave no clue whatsoever to the unique circumstances behind the “childhood tragedy” that Ginger must overcome – and normally I would NEVER reveal something so intrinsic to the plot line but it seems something has been said about it in every other review I’ve read so I have no compunction whatsoever in revealing this particular tidbit…

Especially as I had a teacher in school with a similar experience.

Of course… unlike Ginger, my teacher had found peace with her own scars. She did not go to great lengths to cover them up and I’m not certain I would have been so strong as she was but she had God’s grace on her side and that gave her the strength to find the beauty within.

I always thought she was beautiful anyway… And she was a terrific teacher!

Don’t miss this heart-warming novella and read about how Ginger deals with her own scars…

A Brush with Love | A Year of Weddings novella (Zondervan, January 2015)

Ginger Winters is a gifted hairstylist with scars no one can see. The last thing she expects from the New Year is a new chance at love.

Overcoming a childhood tragedy, Ginger emerges from the pain and trauma with a gift for bringing out the beauty in others. From the top big city salons to traveling the world as personal stylist to a country music sensation, success was almost enough to make Ginger forget her she would never be one of the beautiful people.

Almost. Now that she’s back home in Rosebud, Alabama and running her own salon, the truth remains: Ginger is still that girl, forever on the outside looking in. But she needs her confidence this weekend. She’s the acclaimed “beauty-maker” for the Alabama society wedding of the decade.

When high-school crush Tom Wells Jr. also returns to town and shows up at her shop looking for a haircut, Ginger’s thinly veiled insecurities threaten to keep her locked away from love, Despite Tom’s best efforts, Ginger can’t forget how he disappeared on her twelve years ago and broke her heart. Can she ever trust him again?

When Tom challenges her to see her own beauty, Ginger must decide if she will remained chained to the past or move freely into a new, exciting future.

Happily Ever After or… Not? “A March Bride” by Rachel Hauck

20140228-153818.jpgOK… truth – my initial review started this way:

“It’s HERE! It’s HERE! It’s HERE!

I’ve only just read “Once Upon A Prince” but it seems I’ve waited forever to read the next chapter in Nathaniel and Susanna’s romance!”

And THEN I read the book.

Yeah… this review is going to be different than my others.

I’m going to spill a bit – can’t help it. Because at some point while you’re reading… anyone who is remotely like me, is going to get mad.

And I mean MAD!

Mad as in – you’re going to be ready to skin Rachel Hauck. That’s pretty serious. And yes, I was there. And I was there hard-core.

At that point, only a mildly morbid curiosity kept me reading.

And then… you realize – WHOO! Rachel Hauck is a GREAT writer! She has me so mad, I’m ready to scream – over… a book. That’s GOOD writing!

And at that point, you couldn’t have pried the tablet out of my hand!

After all that, she did come through. You knew she would. You had to know, all along that she would find some way to make it all come out OK.

And then, just when you think it’s all OK, just when you’re ready to enjoy the rest of the book, she hits you with another whammy and you’re ready to scream again, you’re ready to stomp over to Europe and rip into somebody.

But she’s no dummy, that Rachel Hauck. She does all this on purpose. It’s kind of like God’s plan. Even the missteps and trials help you on your way to the destination God has in mind for you. I LOVE that Rachel has that in mind when she’s writing these stories.

In fact, God is central to her novels in a way unlike most others you will read. It’s AMAZING! God has truly gifted Rachel Hauck with such an amazing gift!

The only complaint I have about this book is that there wasn’t more of it!

Now I just keep hoping to hear a book 3 announced in her Royal Weddings series!

Here’s a bit more about the story from Zondervan:

“Princess Ever After” by Rachel Hauck | Royal Weddings series #2

"Princess Ever After" by Rachel Hauck First let me just say, I LOVE this cover! I’m not wildly in love with the cover for the first book in this series because it gives the impression that the woman we see is undressed but everyone has different ideas of what is or is not appropriate so I can understand if I stand alone in that area.

But THIS COVER IS PERFECT! It just screams Princess! to me. LOVE IT!

Second let me say that I have gotten into an Amish obsession lately so I decided to branch out a bit and read some other Christian fiction.

And I’m so glad I did! WOW!

Rachel Hauck is an AMAZING author!

I really don’t know if I am even a good enough writer to do this review justice. I have no idea how to tell you just how amazing this book is without sounding like a silly fan-girl.

One thing I will say about “Princess Ever After” is what I said to mum while I was reading – I am terribly excited to see so many Christian authors stepping out in faith. Too many others are making money on stories about supernatural happenings that are clearly impossible, it’s high time we show the world just how SUPERNATURAL our AWESOME GOD is!

Rachel Hauck blends these wondrous occurrences into her stories so well, you might not even catch them the first time through…unless you’re looking for them or you are exceptionally close to God yourself but they’re in there.

In “Once Upon A Prince”, we read all about Suzanna giving herself over to God – to do with as He choses. This is a bit more of a struggle for the characters in “Princess Ever After” but they do finally manage to “let go and let God” and the story is so much better for it!

The characters grab your heart right away and will not let go! And the story is so intense, you can’t stand to put the book down for even a minute. I read this book faster than any book other book I’ve read in over a year!

Now I find myself rushing through the rest of my TBR pile so I can go back and read the other books of Rachel Hauck’s that I haven’t yet! And impatiently awaiting the next book in this series too!

Definitely DON’T miss out on the Facebook party that Litfuse is throwing to celebrate the release of this book!

While you wait, here’s a bit more about the story from GoodReads:

“Once Upon A Prince” by Rachel Hauck | Royal Weddings series #1

20140218-120448.jpg

Oh my word, I am in definite danger of turning into a giggling, gushing, fan-girl over this book.

Over a year ago I skimmed through it at the insistence of my mother and I surely wish I’d done more than skim. Of course, it may not have had the same impact on me then that it has now so perhaps it was for the best.

I’ve just finished reading the book and, despite being under the influence of a nasty stomach bug, I feel the most wonderful glow inside and out.

WHAT an amazing story!
WHAT a wonderful idea!
SO MUCH better than a silly story of magic slippers or enchanted spinning wheels. I do think the cover designer might have benefited from reading the book a bit more closely but my personal morals are so different from almost everyone else’s, I’m sure they thought the cover was positively pure. It’s just me and my son who look at it and wince. However, at the end of the day, the cover art can not possibly diminish the wonderful message contained within the pages!

And now I get to jump right into the next story! SO there is a bit of a bonus for me waiting so long to really read the book. I don’t have to sit on tacks while I wait for book 2. YAY!

Watch for the review! It’s coming soon and don’t miss out on the Facebook party that Litfuse is throwing to celebrate on March 6th! LINK

And if you haven’t read the book, you definitely should!

Here’s what GoodReads has to say about it:
