(CLOSED) Who wants to win a book!

I was gifted a copy of this book at the recent ACFW conference! What a GREAT perk! I was not required to review it but I love to review books so I’m going to!

First I will say; this book is nothing like any other I have ever read… ever!

WOW!

I thought I was reading about a much earlier time period but party lines and going after the vote is so much more familiar to me than most of the historicals I’ve picked up recently… (Yes, it also makes me feel old to admit that.)

Even having a gift with languages, I don’t think I could have kept up with this story so easily if Lauraine Snelling were not such a great story-teller!

What a wonderful idea for a story!

And what a wonderful author Lauraine Snelling is!

No other author I know of pulls off making the story about more than just the main characters quite so well (well maybe one other but I won’t name-bomb Lauraine’s review – if you wanna know, send me a message and I’ll tell you)

Suffice to say, this is a book worth reading and I know I’m excited for #2!

How about you?

Beloved Author Lauraine Snelling Returns Again to Her Popular Red River Valley Setting

Trygve Knutson is devoted to his family and his community. With his job on the construction crew, he is helping to build a future for the North Dakota town of Blessing. Though he loves his home, he sometimes dreams of other horizons–especially since meeting Miriam Hastings.

Miriam is in Blessing to get practical training to become an accredited nurse. She’s been promised a position in the Chicago women’s hospital that will enable her to support her siblings and her ailing mother. Although eager to return to her family, Miriam is surprised to find how much she enjoys the small town of Blessing. And her growing attachment to Trygve soon has her questioning a future she always considered set in stone.

When a family emergency calls Miriam home sooner than planned, will she find a way to return? If not, will it mean losing Trygve–and her chance at love–for good?

    1. I bet that was tricky! Of course sometimes it’s just as difficult to get in touch with people these days. Even with cell-phones, e-mail and texting…

Actually, sometimes I think all of those things make it harder to get in touch with people.
